Ballsbridge Physiotherapy Clinic
News November 2012: We are delighted to announce a new service at the clinic. Physiotherapy is now available to patients with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Stroke. Niamh Foley who has recently joined this clinic is leading this service.
Ballsbridge Physiotherapy Clinic was established in Dublin 4 in 1984. As chartered physiotherapists we have been providing a high standard of care to our many patients presenting with:
- Back and neck pain (acute and chronic)
- Sports injuries
- Arthritis
- Work-related injuries
- Symptoms post fracture
- Back pain in pregnancy, incontinence (Women's Health)
- Orthopaedic conditions. Post operative care following ACL repair, spinal decompression and total hip replacement.
Our approach to treatment is to make a detailed assessment of your symptoms and following diagnosis, plan a treatment programme which could include manual therapy, exercise and strengthening programmes (core stability) and electrotherapy (ultrasound, laser, interfential, muscle stimulation and biofeedback).
While all our therapists are highly skilled, over the years through professional development, each of us has dedicated ourselves to enhancing our skills in certain areas:
Aileen MaGuire has led the biomechanical assessment speciality. She addresses these chronic lower limb problems (runner’s knee, foot pain) with an approach which includes both exercise and the prescription of orthotics. Aileen also completed a post -registration course in Women’s Health and runs this service in the clinic.
Vivian Hanrahan is one of the founding members of the clinic and has extensive experience in the treatment of back, neck pain and degenerative arthritic conditions.
Niamh Foley has 10 years clinical experience having completing her certificate in orthopaedic manual therapy from Curtin University Australia, and is a certified dry needling practitioner. This experience has led to an interest in the treatment of both acute and chronic, back and neck pain. In addition, Niamh has an interest in the treatment of neurological conditions such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. Having worked in highly specialised teams she has extensive experience in both neurological physiotherapy and a manual approach to neurologically impaired patients.
Sports Physiotherapy is the specialty of David Richards who holds a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy. His particular interest is in the treatment of Groin Injuries.
